📄 Retraction Policy
The International Journal of Agricultural Research and Multidisciplinary Research Trends (IJARMRT), published by Dupar Publications, is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the scholarly record.
The primary purpose of retraction is to correct the scholarly literature and ensure that readers are not misled by research that is found to be seriously unreliable, unethical, duplicated, plagiarized, or otherwise unsuitable for continued publication. Retraction is intended to protect the integrity of the academic record and is not primarily intended as a punishment for authors.
IJARMRT follows recognized principles of publication ethics and considers relevant recommendations and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) when handling corrections, expressions of concern, and article retractions.
🎯 Purpose of Retraction
Retraction is used when an article contains serious problems that substantially affect its reliability, validity, ethical compliance, originality, or publication integrity.
A retraction provides a transparent mechanism for correcting the published scholarly record while preserving the publication history of the article.
⚠️ Reasons for Retraction
An article may be considered for retraction when there is clear evidence of a serious problem affecting the integrity or reliability of the publication. Reasons may include, but are not limited to:
- Significant plagiarism or substantial unattributed copying.
- Duplicate publication or substantial overlap with another published article.
- Fabrication or falsification of research data, results, images, or other research materials.
- Serious errors in methodology, data analysis, or interpretation that invalidate the main findings or conclusions.
- Manipulation or fabrication of the peer-review process.
- Serious authorship problems or false claims concerning authorship.
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest that materially affect the research or its interpretation.
- Research conducted without required ethical approval or in violation of applicable research-ethics standards.
- Serious violations involving human or animal research where applicable ethical requirements were not followed.
- Copyright infringement or unauthorized use of protected material.
- Evidence of unethical or deceptive publication practices.
- Other serious breaches of research or publication ethics that materially compromise the integrity of the article.
✏️ Honest Errors and Corrections
Not every error in a published article requires retraction. Minor or honest errors that do not affect the overall validity of the research may be addressed through a correction, erratum, or other appropriate editorial notice.
If an error substantially affects the reliability, validity, or interpretation of the published research, the Editorial Board may consider retraction after reviewing the available evidence.
🔎 Retraction Investigation
When a potential reason for retraction is reported, the Editorial Board will evaluate the concern and available evidence. Where necessary, the journal may conduct an editorial investigation before making a final decision.
- Review the published article and relevant editorial records.
- Request an explanation or supporting information from the authors.
- Review relevant evidence concerning plagiarism, data integrity, authorship, ethical approval, copyright, or duplicate publication.
- Consult editors, reviewers, subject specialists, or research-ethics experts where appropriate.
- Contact the author's institution or relevant organization when necessary.
- Determine the appropriate editorial action based on the available evidence.
👥 Who May Request a Retraction?
A concern regarding a published article may be brought to the attention of IJARMRT by any credible person or organization with relevant evidence.
- The author or authors.
- The Editor-in-Chief.
- A member of the Editorial Board.
- A reviewer or researcher.
- The author's affiliated institution or research organization.
- Another credible individual or organization providing relevant evidence.
⚖️ Retraction Decision
A decision to retract an article may be made by the Editorial Board when sufficient evidence demonstrates that the article should no longer be considered part of the reliable scholarly record.
Where appropriate, the authors will be given an opportunity to respond to the concerns before a final decision is made. However, the journal may proceed with appropriate editorial action when sufficient evidence exists to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
Retraction decisions are based on the integrity, reliability, ethical compliance, originality, and publication status of the article.
📢 Retraction Notice
When an article is retracted, IJARMRT will publish a separate Retraction Notice whenever appropriate. The notice will clearly identify the retracted article and explain the reason for the editorial action.
A Retraction Notice may include:
- Title of the retracted article.
- Names of the authors.
- Publication details of the article.
- DOI or permanent article identifier, where applicable.
- Date of retraction.
- Reason or reasons for the retraction.
- Source or party initiating the retraction, where appropriate.
- A link to the original article.
🗂️ Treatment of the Original Article
Retracted articles will normally remain available in the journal's electronic archive in order to preserve the scholarly record and publication history.
The original article will not normally be silently deleted or removed. Instead, its retracted status will be clearly indicated on the article webpage and, where technically appropriate, on the article PDF.
A clear "RETRACTED" indication or watermark may be applied to the article PDF. The article webpage will contain a prominent link to the corresponding Retraction Notice.
The Retraction Notice will, where possible, contain a link to the original article.
⚠️ Expression of Concern
If serious concerns have been raised about a published article but the available evidence is not yet sufficient for a final retraction decision, IJARMRT may publish an Expression of Concern.
An Expression of Concern may be issued while additional evidence, institutional information, or investigation is being obtained.
If the investigation subsequently establishes that retraction is necessary, the journal may publish a formal Retraction Notice.
🚨 Research and Publication Misconduct
IJARMRT takes allegations of research and publication misconduct seriously. Where evidence indicates serious misconduct, the journal may take appropriate editorial action, including:
- Correction of the published record.
- Expression of Concern.
- Retraction of the article.
- Rejection of a manuscript under consideration.
- Referral of the matter to the author's institution or appropriate authority.
©️ Authorship and Copyright Issues
Retraction may be considered where serious authorship problems, unauthorized publication, copyright infringement, or other legal or ethical issues materially affect the validity or legitimacy of the publication.
Authorship disputes that do not affect the scientific integrity of the article may be addressed through correction or referral to the appropriate institution rather than retraction.
📚 Post-Retraction Citation
Authors, researchers, and readers should clearly indicate the retracted status of an article when referring to or citing a retracted publication.
IJARMRT will make reasonable efforts to ensure that the retracted status of an article is visible in its online record and, where applicable, communicated to relevant indexing, abstracting, DOI, and scholarly information services.
🛡️ Editorial Independence
Retraction decisions are editorial decisions intended to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
IJARMRT will not retract an article solely because its conclusions are controversial, unpopular, or inconsistent with the opinions of readers, authors, editors, or other parties, provided that the research meets applicable scholarly and ethical standards.
Editorial decisions will be based on documented evidence relating to the integrity, reliability, ethical compliance, originality, or publication status of the article.
📝 Appeals and Requests for Review
Authors may contact the Editorial Office if they believe that a retraction decision was made in error or that relevant evidence was not properly considered.
Requests for review should provide clear reasons and supporting evidence. The Editorial Board may review the request and determine whether further consideration is warranted.
Submission of an appeal does not automatically remove, suspend, or invalidate a published Retraction Notice.
📖 Publication Ethics Framework
IJARMRT aims to follow recognized scholarly publishing principles and relevant recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) concerning corrections, expressions of concern, and article retractions.
The journal may update this policy when recognized publishing-ethics standards, guidelines, or best practices are revised.
